1968 CV Merapi Trading Company.
1973 PT Merapi Utama Pharma
CV Merapi Trading Company transformed into PT Merapi Utama Pharma which operated in pharmaceutical wholesale bussiness and becoming the sole distributor for Otsuka infussion solution products in Indonesia.
1973 First branches
Three branches were opened: Jakarta, Semarang, Sidoarjo.
1986 Computerized System
In the 1980s, when computer systems were still an expensive and rare investment, Merapi took strategic steps by initiating the development of an IT system, which proved to be Merapi’s strength in enhancing its distribution business.
1988 First branch outside Jawa
Palembang branch, the first Merapi branch office outside Java, was opened.
1989 Otsuka Ownership
Otsuka, a leading pharmaceutical company from Japan, took over and became the majority shareholder of PT Merapi Utama Pharma.
1991 The first branches in Kalimantan, Sulawesi and Bali.
The first branches in Kalimantan (Banjarmasin), Sulawesi (Makassar), and Bali (Denpasar), were opened, enabling Merapi to reach a wider area of eastern Indonesia.
2000 Cold-Chain Product facility
Merapi built a cold-chain facility that allows Merapi to distribute CCP (cold-chain products) such as vaccines, throughout Merapi's branches, making Merapi increasingly recognized as a respected distributor.
2001 Merapi Gold
An integrated IT system that fully developed by internal Merapi experts to meet various principal needs, named Merapi Gold, was go-live.
2005 Distribution Center Cikande
Merapi operated its first distribution center in Cikande with a capacity of 2200 pallets.
2007 IBM AS/400 LX
Merapi adopted IBM AS/400 LX technology for a more robust and reliable IT system.
2010 First branch in Papua
Jayapura branch opened. Now Merapi has branch offices located on all of Indonesia's large strategic islands.
2011 ISO 9001
To ensure the quality of service and customer satisfaction, Merapi implemented a quality management system and obtained ISO 9001 certification.
2015 Distribution Center Cimanggis
Merapi moved its distribution center from Cikande to Cimanggis which has double capacity and modern warehousing facilities.
2016 Second distribution center kedua: Sidoarjo
Merapi expanded its distribution capacity by operating a second distribution center in Sidoarjo.
2018 Aceh Branch
Aceh branch opened. Merapi built a strong presence covering from the western tip to the eastern tip of Indonesia.
2019 Oracle Fusion
Oracle Fusion, which integrates cloud and on-premise advance technology, was implemented at Merapi, providing a very wide and flexible range of IT access.
